Anna Towata recalls appearing in her first kimono as "Miss Sonoma" at the 1939 Treasure Island Exhibition, relocation to Topaz internment camp as a newlywed in 1942, and how in 1953 husband Johnny Towata Sr. became the owner of one of Alameda's favorite florist shops.
