HISTORY OF BASEBALL IN ALAMEDA PARKS

Wood Middle School PE coach Dave Stebbins reminisces about his experiences growing up in Alameda as a member of the youth baseball leagues. The various diamonds -- past and present -- are explored, followed by a recap of Alameda's famous major league players.

The student team visited and photographed all the existing diamonds in the Alameda Park and Recreation Department system and found archival photos of former fields and superstars. Vintage baseball cards are used to tell the story. Conversion between video file formats proved to be a problematic issue for the group in telling the story.
